The Tractor & Vintage Car Run for Toonagh Hall & Sports Complex was very well supported last Sun. 80 participated, driving tractors, vintage cars and motorbikes. The Committee worked tirelessly to make this a fun event and it wishes to thank the following: Tom, Noel & Eoin Barry for the use of their field and the work they did on hedges, etc., Jimmy Guinnane for bread, John Burke who provided the milk, Meere's Pork Products, Quin, all who brought home baking and helped out in the kitchen;  Brian Coffey who manned the BBQ;  Eugene Casey for his sheep in 'Guess the Weight';  Keven Moloney for his tractor balancing machine; Total Vision who provided the big screen for the big match; members of the Handball Club who ran fun events and helped with stewarding;  those who collected registration and organised music and dancing and Toonagh School for allowing parking in its grounds.

It was a very enjoyable day out for all the family. The only 'farmerette' to finish the run was Clara Morgan from Dysart. Joint winners of tractor balancing were Patrick O'Gorman and Ollie Callinan.  'Guess the no. of sweets' was won by Darragh McDonagh.  'Guess the Weight of the Sheep' was won jointly by Pakie Keane and Barry Whelan and 'Peg the clothes on the line' was won by Mary McGuane.

Over €3,000 was raised which will be used for ongoing development in the Hall & Sports Complex.

Thanks from Claire. Claire McDonnell from Dysart, a student nurse, travelled to Tanzania during the summer to work with people in need in a hospital in the bush.  This local community very generously supported her when she ran events to raise funds for this trip and Claire will have pictures on display in both churches from her time there to thank the community and show how the money was spent. It is also going towards a hospital being built in Sinamajiro & will also help buy equipment to promote health care.

Never cease loving a person, and never give up hope for him, for even the prodigal son, who had fallen most low, could still be saved;  the bitterest enemy and also he who was your friend could again be your friend; love that has grown cold can kindle.

VISTING PARISHIONERS IN HOSPITAL: People often like to be visited by a priest from their parish while in hospital. It is now becoming increasingly difficult to do this as the front desk in the hospitals no longer have full details of the patients in the hospital. In the future, it will be impossible for priests to visit people from the parish in hospital unless the family have informed them in advance.

If you have a suitable plot, and would be interested in donating or selling same to the Parish, please contact Fr. Pat (086 2612124) or any member of the Parish Council at your convenience.  Email:  ruandysartparish@gmail.com

Toonagh Hall & Sports Complex. Please be advised that Toonagh Hall & Sports Complex is CLOSED to the public until such time as a complete management committee has been formed.

At a recent meeting held in the Hall, it was proposed that an EGM be held as soon as possible.  The purpose of this EGM (extraordinary general meeting) is to discuss a number of serious issues still outstanding from the ongoing works at the Hall.  Ideally, it has been decided that a management committee needs to be formed, and this requires the input of the community and cannot wait until the AGM. The meeting will be held on Sunday, 21st Sept., at 6 pm in Toonagh Hall.  Individuals, groups and organisations wishing to use the facilities in the Centre must attend or send a representative, as the Hall & Sports Complex cannot open until the committee is formed. For further information, please contact Paul Rees, Chairman (0872166288)
