THE IRISH HEART FOUNDATION would like to thank the parishioners for their generosity during the 2012 Church gate collection. The total amount collected was €200.00.

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY is  on next  Sunday 21rd October. Mission month is a time to celebrate the work of missionaries. Each year we are encouraged to offer the young churches our prayers and support. The theme this year is  “Growing in Communion ” and this year’s mission  poster features the founder  of the society of the Propagation of the Faith Pauline Jaricot and Cork born  lay missionary Aisling Foley currently ministering in South Africa.   We can all play an active role in helping more than 1,100 dioceses generally located  in the poorer areas of the globe. GOSPEL CHOIR VISITS DYSART: As part of a fundraiser, Ennis Gospel Choir is singing at Masses in churches around the area in the coming weeks.    The Choir will visit this Parish on Sun. 21st Oct. next, when it will sing during Mass in St. Tola's Church, Dysart at 9.45a.m., after which a collection will be held.  Your support will be appreciated.

DOOR NEEDED: If anyone in the parish has an external door, measuring 34" x 78", and has no use for it, it would be very useful to Toonagh Hall.  Please contact Rose  at  0870610212

CRAFT CLASSES: The Craft classes, where people experienced in knitting, crochet and embroidery share their knowledge with those wishing to learn these crafts, are a big success, with over twenty people having attended the first two nights.  The classes start at 8.00p.m. and end with a cuppa after 9.00p.m. and anyone interested is welcome, adm. €5.

CLARE COUNTY COUNCIL is working with communities to distribute free smoke alarms (2 per household) to vulnerable households who do not currently have them.  If you know of households in your community that need a smoke alarm please contact Helen Malone 0656846511 or hmalone@clarecoco.ie

CAMOGIE NEWS: U14 team play their semi final against Truagh/Clonlara in the Shannon grounds on this Sunday at 11.30. 

Camogie Shinty weekend fast approaching on Saturday Oct 27th. President Michael D Higgins will be present to officiate at the opening of Fr McNamara Memorial Park. A parade will take place through Ennis on the Saturday and our underage camogie girls will participate in this. RUAN GAA NEWS:  Minor Club:  U 15s Ruan/Corofin had great win over Cratloe on Sunday last. They are now through to meet Doora/Barefield in the semi final on Sunday 14th Oct in the Eire Og pitch at 1 15pm. U 11s meet Bodyke in the last match of league this weekend. Congratulations to Donal O hAinifein manager of Eire Og minor football team who bridged a gap of 13 years to win division 1 Minor football final on Sunday last. Well done also to Conal O hAinifein and Liam O Donovan who were on panel. Well Done to Liam O Donovan who recently made his Harty Cup debut for St Flannans College.   Susan Rice
Intermediate Final 2012: Ruan will contest their 3rd successive final on Sunday week against near neighbours Crusheen. We would urge as many as possible to support the team as they strive to win this year’s Intermediate Championship.
