Thought for the Week

There are very few people who realise what God would make of them, if they abandoned themselves into his hands, and let themselves be formed by his Grace.    ( St. Ignatius of Loyola.)

MISSION SUNDAY:  The theme for this year’s Mission Month of October is “Growing in Faith”  In his first Encyclical ,”Lumen Fides” or Light of Faith, Pope Francis invites us to reflect on the great gift of Faith, and how this adds so much to the quality and meaning of life.  Sharing this message of Faith and hope to our modern world is our Christian duty, as is assisting financially the growth of our young churches in the South.  Please help us at World Missions Ireland to share that gift of faith through your prayers and financial support of our missions.  For further information and or to make a donation please visit www.wmi.ie

CELEBRATE The Consecration of the World to “The Immaculate Heart of Mary in union with Pope Francis on Sun Oct 13th “Our Lady of Fatima” Prayer.  An act of Consecration to Jesus through Mary.

On this day Mother I consecrate to you my heart, soul, body, mind, my understanding, intellect and will. I give it all to Jesus to atone, to repay Him for all He has done for me.  I give to you my love, that it may appease the great pain that is in your heart, that He may see you consoled by it just a little and accept my being in all its weakness at this time for the greater glory of God and the good of man. Amen.

I consecrate myself in body and in soul and say All for thee Sweet Jesus through your Beloved mother Mary. Amen.        Gather with your loved ones on October 13th and pray this prayer of Consecration.

U13s secure final placing The U13s secured a place in the U13C final after a thrilling win in a replay to Tulla.   They had drawn with them on the previous meeting and little separated the sides again.   The supporters were entertained right to the last minute and the game ended on a 4-4 to 3-3  scoreline in favour of Ruan.  The final against Ballyea will take place on Sunday at 11am - venue tba.  All support would be greatly appreciated.

Training for all age groups has now finished up for the winter.  A big thank you is due to all the trainers that have voluntarily worked with the underage players throughout the season. Many thanks.

RUAN GAA NEWS:

Ruan were defeated by O’Callaghan’s Mills on Saturday last, this was a close encounter until mid-way in the second half when a Mills goal put them in control, and they ran out deserving winners. Ruan must now regroup for their final third round match against Smith O’Briens which takes place this Sunday in Shannon, and as it will take an improved performance to advance, your support would be much appreciated.  Ger Lyons Club Pro
