Advent Tree

During the season of Advent, we prepare ourselves to welcome Baby Jesus into our hearts and our homes.

As we wait in hope, let us acknowledge and pray for those who, for one reason or another, will not be "with us" this Christmas - perhaps you know a loved one who has emigrated, someone suffering mental health problems, a hospital patient, someone suffering addiction or Alzheimer's disease ........?

People are invited to take a card from the basket, representing someone we want to keep in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Write the individual's name on it and hang it on the Advent branch. The names hanging on the Advent branch will be removed on Christmas Eve and will form part of the Offertory Procession at the Vigil Mass.

People are also invited to take a card from the box - each representing a particular gift you may wish for yourself during this season of Advent, e.g. tolerance, contentment, patience, kindness, compassion, peace, happiness, etc. and hang it on the branch. As we focus on the true gifts of Christmas, let us unite in prayer to prepare ourselves for the coming of Baby Jesus.

Eucharistic Adoration:

Eucharistic Adoration is held every Wed. in Ruan Church from 3 to 7 pm. It starts in Dysart Church on this coming Thursday, 3rd Dec. from 10am to 1pm. Pat @ 0862612124 or 6827799 as soon as possible please, it would be much appreciated.

Thought for the Week.

"In a world where there is so much noise, so much bewilderment, there is a need for

silent adoration of Jesus concealed in the Host.
Be assiduous in the prayer of adoration and teach it to the faithful.
It is a source of comfort and light, particularly for those who are suffering"
(Pope Benedict XVI)
