Road Closures for Rally.
On Sunday 18th September the Clare Stages Rally will take place.   The Stages will pass near Ruan village going towards Corofin, then travel towards Kells Cross and back towards Ruan School, on to Dromore and ending up in Tubber.   The roads in the area will be closed for most of the day, and people are asked to look out for the signs and obey the marshals who work for the safety of the public during the day.
Pub Quiz.
Ruan Community Childcare is a valuable asset to the Community, catering for the needs of children offering pre-school and after-school facilities.   It also caters for children with special needs and held a very successful summer camp for children with special needs.   Like many other services, it relies heavily on the generosity of the people using the facilities, and the general community, and to that end, a Pub Quiz will be held in Morty Kelly's Bar on Sat. 17th Sept. at 9 o'clock.
There will be a raffle and spot prizes and the it is hoped it will be well supported.
Coffee Morning for Hospice.
On Thursday, 15th Sept. next, this parish will join with parishes all over the Country, in hosting a Coffee Morning to raise funds for the Hospice Foundation, with Cahercalla Hospice benefitting from all monies raised in this County.   It will be held in Toonagh Hall and Ruan Community Centre, from 9.30a.m. to 12.30p.m.

U16's Final.
Ruan/Banner u16 team went down to Corofin in Cusack Park in the championship final on Saturday last.   They tried very hard and had won all their matches up along, except the two they played against Corofin.
The team, their mentors and parents put in a great effort in the championship and they had great support on Saturday.
The u11 team have a game against Boithrin in Ruan on this Mon. eve. at 6.30p.m.
