The wedding took place in St. Mary's Church, Ruan, on Sat. last of Margaret Ann Leahy, daughter of Michael and Catherine from Hazelgrove, Ruan and Sean Mullins, son of John and Mary, from Clonakilty, Co. Cork.   Fr. Pat O'Neill was celebrant and Bridesmaids were Eileen O'Sullivan, 
Emma Breathnach and Mary Gilmartin.   Bestman was Eoin Mullins and Groomsmen were Thomas Leahy and Michael Finn. 
Sean Phair and Noel Phair were pageboys and flower girl was Beibhinn Breathnach and Oisin Leahy, nephew of the bride was usher.   
The couple were joined by family and friends at a reception in the Armada Hotel.
U15C Champions.
Ruan competed in the u15 Division "C" Final on Sunday last, when they had a win over Tubber/Crusheen in Cusack Park, in an exciting game which saw them win by two points.   Great credit is due to the boys mentors, Flan, Donal, Joe, John and also Gerry, Kevin and Dermot, for their dedication and hard work throughout the season.  There was great support from the parish at the game.   
Captain, Conal Oh'Ainifein, on behalf of the team, accepted the Sheild from Martin Reynolds, Chairman of Board na nOg.  
After the game, the celebrations continued as they went to The Grove where they were treated to a meal.
Choral Evening.
North Clare Mental Health Association is hosting a Choral evening with the Ennis Gospel Choir, Scoil Muire, Ennistymon and the Coughlan Brothers, Lahinch, in Seaworld Hall, Lahinch on this Fri. Oct. 14th at 8.00p.m.  Admission is free and all are welcome.   
This concert is organised as part of Mental Health Week, which takes place this week.
Tree Planting Ceremony.
A Memorial Service and Tree Planting Ceremony will take place at the School in Ruan on this Sun. Oct. 9th following 11.15a.m. Mass, to remember the late Johnny Greene, who taught in Ruan N.S. and played such a big part in the life of people in this parish.   
Recordings of his most popular songs and music have been compiled, and C.Ds will be available.   All are welcome.
Community Games.
The Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games "Keep Clare Clean" Awareness Project is now taking place.   Age categories u6, u8, u10, u12 and u14 (on 31st July, 2011) and a special category will also be included.   This year's competition can take the form of a poem or poster.   
1st and 2nd from each age group, in each category, in this parish will go forward for county adjudication.   
Entries to Moira O'Loughlin or Bernadette Kelly by Oct. 28th next.
Intermediate Replay.
Ruan and Corofin will get a second chance to advance to the County Final of the Intermediate Championship, when they have a replay of the 
semi-final in Shannon at 5p.m. on Sunday.   It is hoped the supporters will turn out in force to cheer on our team.
