Banna Mini Stages Rally.
 
Ruan man, Martin Casey, with Tina Quinn, co-pilot,  came 37th overall and 3rd in his Class in the Banna Mini Stages Rally held in Kerry at the weekend.   Adrian Hynes, also from Ruan, with P.A. Lyons co-piloting, came 75th overall and 5th in his class.   
The next rally will be the Killarney Historic Stages Rally, on 3rd December.

Keep Clare Clean Competition.
 
There was a good entry in the parish for the Keep Clare Clean Competition and the following are the results:-   
U12 Poster, 1 Caoimhe Roughan;  2 Rory O'Loughlin;  3 Alison Woodford.   U10 Poster, 1 Liam Moran;  2 Eve O'Connor;  3 Johnathan Barry; 
 4 Jack Mulqueen.   U8 Poster, 2 Molly O'Donoghue;  2 Jamie Cantillon;  3 Paul Rees;  4 Michael Barry.   U10 Poem, 2 Sarah Jane O'Halloran;  
2 Ellen Barry;  3 Sadie Keane;  4 Ciara Rees.   U6 Poster, 1 Anna Browne;  2 Emma Cantillon;  3 Brian O'Gorman;  4 Saoirse Barry.
Children who came 1st and 2nd in each age and category - both poem and poster,  may attend Waterpark House, Drumbiggle on Fri. 2nd Dec next at 8.00p.m., where final adjudication will take place.

Death.
 
The death has taken place of Mrs. Mai O'Loughlin, Martree, Maurice's Mills, mother of Margaret Mullins, Drumcavan and also John O'Loughlin, Drumcavan.

Missionvale Ceili.
 
Liam Kirwan, who is formerly from Ruan, has been actively involved in raising funds and helping in the building of Sr. Ethel Normoyle's building project in Missionvale.   He is one of the organisers of a Ceili which will be held in Cois na hAbhna on this Sat. night, 19th Nov. where the Star of Munster Ceili Band will provide the music.   
Monies raised with this event will be used to purchase building supplies for Sr. Ethel's school extension.
