Tracy runs Marathon.
Tracy Guilfoyle, running with Kilnaboy A.C. ran the Dublin City Marathon in Oct.   This was her 20th Marathon, and she set a very good time of 3 hrs 01.28.   She was the 15th woman, and the first Irish and International Athlete home in the Masters Ladies 045.

Following on the successful year enjoyed by the local Camogie Club, all players, parents and anyone interested in the promotion of camogie in the parish are invited to the A.G.M. of the Club which will be held in Toonagh Hall on Sat. 17th Nov. next in Toonagh Hall, at 7.30p.m.
Rally News.
Martin Casey from Hazelgrove, Ruan, with his navigator, Derek Butler from Cork, had a great day, and ended his rallying year on a high, at the Banna Mini Stages in Kerry last week.   Martin came 5th in their Class and 33rd overall driving his Honda Civic.
Clothes Collection for Parents Association.
The organisers of the recent used clothes collection for Toonagh Parents Association were delighted with the response of the community to their  fundraiser.  €455 was raised and will be used by the Association in their various activities.  
So successful was the event, that they plan to hold another one after Easter of next year.
Ruan u11's took part in the Andrew OhEithir memorial tournament in Dublin on Sat. last.   They left Ruan by bus at 7a.m., arriving at Ballinteer St. John's Club where they played against teams from Cork, Tyrone and Dublin.  They performed very well and enjoyed the experience of playing against Clubs from other Counties.   Afterwards, they were treated to dinner by the host Club and Ruan presented them with a special plaque to mark the occasion.   
Great Credit is due to Ruan Senior Hurling Club  who helped fund the bus and the mentors for organising this trip for the young hurlers.
Senior Citizens Party.
The annual Christmas Party for the local Senior Citizens will be held at Morth Kelly's Pub on Sun. 2nd Dec. next at 2.00p.m.  
All are welcome to this gathering, when local musicians, singers and dancers entertain the guests, following a festive meal.

Winter Walking Club.
Anyone interested in getting fresh air and meeting new friends is invited to come to the entrance of Dromore Woods every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 8.15p.m., where they can join walkers of all levels of fitness.   
All welcome and walkers should bring a torch!

Tidy Towns Meeting.
Following on their recent success in the Tidy Towns and Clare in Bloom competitions, the Tidy Towns Committee has arranged a meeting in Morty Kelly's Bar on Tue. night next, 20th Nov. at 9.00p.m.  The object of this meeting is to plan the way ahead for next year, building on what was achieved this year.   The support of the local community is vital in furthering the aims of the Tidy Town, and all interested are invited to attend.
