Running with Clare Crusaders.
Darren Kelly, from Beechgrove, Toonagh, ran in Bank Holiday's Dublin City Marathon, with a group raising funds for Clare Crusaders, which supports the organisation in Barefield offering services to children with special needs.  Darren finished in a time of 4 hrs 57 mins. He has a card in Donnellan's Centra in Loughville and will welcome support for this worthy cause.

Intermediate's play Silvermines.
Our Intermediate team met Silvermines, Tipperary in the Munster campaign on Sun. last in Sixmilebridge, a week after becoming County Intermediate Champions.  They didn't fare as well as the previous week, however, as nothing seemed to go their way on the day.  Silvermines emerged winners on a scoreline of 1.14 to 6 pts.

Blessing of Graves.
Friday, 2nd Nov. is the Feast of All Souls and Mass will be celebrated in Ruan Graveyard (weather permitting) at 10.00a.m. and in Dysart Graveyard at 11.00a.m. (weather permitting),  and Sat 3rd Nov., Kyle Graveyard at 11.00a.m. and Kilcross Graveyard at 12 noon.
Clothes Collection for Toonagh Parents Association.
There will be a new and used clothes collection on Wed. 7th Nov. next at Toonagh Hall, which will be open from 9.15a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 6.30 to 7.30p.m., when bags may be dropped off.   People might get a chance to do a clean-out over the Halloween break.   Mens, womens, childrens chothes, shoes, belts, bags, ties and household textile (no pillows, no duvets) will be very welcome.   This is a fundraising effort for the Parents Association.
Pilates Class.
Tracy Guilfoyle starts a new course of Pilates on Thurs. Nov. 8th next, in Toonagh Hall from 8.15 to 9.15p.m. Further information 0860636837.
Kitchen Sessions.
A great crowd enjoyed the Spooky Kitchen Sessions on Fri. night last in Toonagh Hall, when all dressed up in Fancy Dress and enjoyed the traditional music, singing and dancing. The next Session will return on Fri. 9th Nov. next, after the Halloween break.

Crafts Class.
Wed. nights in Toonagh Hall are a hive of activity, with ladies knitting, crocheting  and enjoying embroidery,  The class will resume on Wed. 7th Nov. next at 7.30p.m.

Rural Resource Group AGM
The A.G.M.  of Ruan and Dysart Resource Group took place recently in Ruan Community Hall.  
Officers appointed were:- John O'Donoghue, Chairman;  Fr. Pat O'Neill, Vice Chairman; Risteard Ui Cronin,, Sec., Mary O'Halloran,Recording Sec., Noel Tierney, Treasurer and John Bell, PRO.  The organisations in the parish, the G.A.A., Ruan Tidy Towns, Toonagh Hall, Ruan Community Hall, and the Parish Graveyards and  the Ruan Dysart Water scheme,  which avail of the services of the Group were well satisfied with its work over the past year.
