Wedding Bells.
Veronica Cassidy, daughter of Ollie and Monica Cassidy, Ruan, was married to John Kelly, son of P.J. and Suzanne Kelly, Carmody St., Ennis, at St. Mary's Church, Ruan, recently.  Celebrant was Fr. Pat O'Neill, assisted by Fr. Michael Collins, Ennis.   Bridesmaids were Fidelma Pilkington and Eileen Geoghegan.  Bestman was Eric Flynn and Groomsman was Alan Kelly.  Niamh Geoghegan was flowergirl, and pageboy was Cian Cassidy.  Following the ceremony, the couple were joined by family and friends at a reception in The Inn at Dromoland.
Parish Graveyard.
There will be a meeting in Ruan Community Centre on Wed. 13th Nov. at 8.00p.m. to discuss the acquisiton of a new Parish Graveyard.   This meeting is of importance to everyone in the parish, as the onus is on the Community to provide a graveyard.
Litter Pick.
Ruan village and its environs have fared really well in the Tidy Towns Competitions over the past few years, and this is thanks, in no small way, to the local community's efforts.   The last "litter pick" of the year, until next spring, will take place this Sat. 2nd Nov., at 11a.m.  This is a great way to get children involved and aware of their environment, so all help will be greatly appreciated. Bags will be provided, but please bring gloves.
Kitchen Session.
The Kitchen Session in Toonagh Hall held its Halloween Party on Fri. night last, with a large crowd of ghouls, ghosts and witches attending.  They even played, sang and dances traditional music until the refreshments and goodies appeared, and all enjoyed the evening.  
The Session will be back after the break on Fri. Nov. 8th from 7p.m. to 9p.m. and all are welcome.
Adult Dancing.
The adult dancing classes have begun well in Toonagh Hall on Thurs. nights, and are now held from 8.30p.m. to 10.30p.m. following the change to the clocks for winter.   The Caledonian, Plain and Connemara Sets, along with jive, waltz and quickstep are taught in an enjoyable atmosphere, by Maggie, and all are welcome.
Mental Health Talks.
A series of talks on Mental Health and Wellness will take place in the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon over the month of November, with Dr. John Hillary, Consultant Psychiatrist on 6th Nov.;  Frances Black (Singer) and founder of R.I.S.E. Foundation with Gerry Murphy of Bushypark Treatment Centre on 13th Nov.;  Dan Neville, T.D. of Suicidology Association with Owen O'Mahony, Clare Suicide Bereavement on 22nd Nov., and Patrick Ryan, Professor of Psychology.U.C.L. and Liam Minogue of the W.R.A.P. Programme on 26th Nov.  
The meetings are at 8.00p.m. each night and admission is free..
