Local G.A.A. News.
Robin Mounsey and Ashley Brohan, both members of Ruan Hurling Club, were on the panel of the Clare Minor Hurling team, which played in the first round of the Munster Minor Championship against Cork on Sunday last.
Cork got the better of Clare on the day after a game of tight scoring up the end, when Cork were victorious by 3 points.
Conal O’hainifein, a member of Ruan G.A.A. Club, who plays football with Eire Og, featured on the Clare Football team which had a victory over Limerick on Saturday evening last, scoring a point when he was brought on as a substitute.
The Ruan under 14 Hurling team had an exciting day on Sunday - they and a number of parents, left Ruan on a bus at 8am and travelled to Crosshaven GAA Club where, at 11.30am, they played Crosshaven under 14s. The Ruan boys were delighted to come out on top on a score line of 8-5 to 3-4. They then proceeded to Pairc Ui Chaoimh to watch the Clare v Cork games and, on their way home, they stopped at Supermacs  in Mallow.  They arrived back in Ruan at 11pm, tired but having had a fabulous day out.  The children and their parents  were full of  praise for Francis Lyons and Caroline McDonnell who organised the trip.
