Burren Cycle.
Mike Daffy, Fintan Cotter, Kevin O'Regan and Anthony O'Halloran took part in the Burren Cycle on Saturday last.   It was a tough cycle, in windy conditions, but the cyclists' experience stood to them and they rose to the challenge to complete it.
Eimear O'Brien, Laura Neilan, Jennifer Slattery, Claudia O'Donoghue, Daire Shannon and Brian O'Sullivan from Ruan School,  and Jessica Healy, David Hehir, Jack Hehir, Aimee Moran and Clara Morgan from Toonagh School received the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sun. week from Fr. Pat O'Neill,  the Ruah children in St. Mary's Church, Ruan and the Toonagh children in St. Tola's Church, Dysart.   It was a very special occasion for the children, who participated fully in the ceremonies, and a great credit to their parents, teachers and the children themselves for preparing the rituals.
Pub Quiz.
A fundraising Pub Quiz will be held in Morty Kelly's Bar on Sat, July 2nd, at 9.00p.m., for Ruan Community Childcare Project, which provides pre-school and after-school care for children, including children with special needs.  It caters for families from the parish, and in neighbouring parishes, and the organisers are hoping for good support on the night.   There will also be a raffle and spot prizes.
