Community Games.
The members of the local Community Games committee have, over the years, ensured that any child in the parish who wishes to take part in any of the activities included in Community Games, is encouraged to participate in the various competitions throughout the year.
A collection for Community Games will be held this coming weekend before both masses in Dysart and Ruan and the support of the community will be much appreciated.

Fun Run.
There was a great turn-out in Ruan on Thurs. eve last for the Fun Run. The beautiful weather on the evening encouraged 250 people to take part.  The run was very well supported by the school and the local community.
Afterwards the participants were treated to refreshments in the school hall at a very enjoyable gathering and the support of all who participated, donated and volunteered is very much appreciated.

Recent Death.
Patricia Hanrahan of Drumcavan, Corofin, died, peacefully, last week, after months in Intensive Care in Peamount Hospital.  Requiem mass,  attended by Staff and Residents, was celebrated in Peamount on Friday last.  Patricia's remains were interred in the family grave, following requiem mass in St. Mary's Church, Ruan, officiated by Fr. Pat O'Neill, on Saturday.
The family is very thankful to the Staff of Peamount and to their good neighbours and friends who were with them during this time.

Race Nite for Toonagh School.
Representatives from the Board of Management and the Parents Association of Toonagh School will be calling to businesses in the local and surrounding areas in the coming weeks, looking for support for a fundraising Race Nite which will be held in Hotel Woodstock on the 8th July next.
While acknowledging that people in business have a lot to contend with in these challenging times, nevertheless it is hoped that there will be a good response to the fundraiser.
The project being undertaken is to convert the grass playing pitch at the school, which is waterlogged over the winter months,  to a facility that can be used all year round by the children, so that they may use it for various activities conducive to a fit and healthy lifestyle.
