Weddings. The wedding took place on June 10th last in Cohasset, Boston in the United States of Brendan Lynch and Barbara Carrera. Brendan is a son of Kathleen & Pat Lynch, Ballybrody and Barbara is a daughter of Lucie & Oscar Carrera from Connecticut. Witnesses were Tadhgh Kelly and Elias A. Baez. A number of Brendan's family travelled to celebrate the happy occasion and they enjoyed a reception at The Red Lion Hotel with Brendan and Barbara, who will continue to reside in Boston. Micheal Callinan, son of Michael and Noreen, Dromina, Dysart married Aishagh Faithful, daughter of Lourde and Martin, of Rushane, Kilnamona in St. Tola's Church, Dysart on Friday last, with Fr. Pat O'Neill, Celebrant. Bestman was Paddy Callinan and groomsmen were Oliver Callinan and Jake Mulcaire. Bridesmaids were Edel Powell, Vikki Browne and Claire Callinan. Michelle Callinan was Flowergirl and Pageboy was Shane Callinan. The reception was held in The Falls Hotel, Ennistymon. Race Night Toonagh National School will hold a Race Night on Friday, July 8th in Hotel Woodstock at 8:30p.m. It promises to be a great night out. All adults are welcome to attend so bring along friends, neighbours and family! Tremendous work has been done by the Race Night Organising Committee and the parents of Toonagh N.S. to date and all funds raised will be spent on the enhancement of the playing facilities for the children at Toonagh N.S. The support of the community would be greatly appreciated.
Marian Keane Basketball Finals Toonagh School girls’ had a very successful campaign in the Marian Keane Memorial Basketball League. They performed extremely well and defeated Ballyea NS in the semi-final before being very narrowly defeated in the final by Gaelscoil Mhíchíl Chíosóg . T The girls were exceptional in representing the school and can be very proud of their efforts. Recent Death. They played a number of matches, took part in the parade and enjoyed a BBQ and disco and enjoyed the hospitality of the host Clubs.
