Walk for St. Claire's School.
Breda McCullough and her husband, Brendan, are busy organising the 9th annual Walk around the roads of Toonagh which will take place on Sun. 5th Feb. next., at 12.30p.m. sharp.   There are routes to suit all levels of fitness, 2 mile, 3 mile or 6.5 miles.   It will start and finish at Toonagh Hall, and refreshments will be served.  There will also be a raffle for a hamper.   The walk has attracted big crowds over the years and many worthwhile organisations have benefitted from the funds raised.   This year's recepient will be St. Clare's School, Ennis, Special Olympics fund, and further information can be had from Breda 065 6837380 or 085 1947763.
The death has occurred, suddenly, of Becky Kelly, of Kincora Park, Ennis and formerly of Bealnalicka, Ruan.   Becky spent all her working life in Dublin, working in the Civil Service, and, on her retirement, around 25 years ago, she returned to Clare, settling in Ennis.   She was an active member of the Legion of Mary in Dublin, and has been involved in St. Joseph's Altar Society, since her return to Ennis.  She also kept in regular touch with her nephew and nieces in England.  
Becky's remains reposed in Daly's Funeral Home, and, following concelebrated requiem Mass, led by her cousin, Fr. Michael Casey, in St. Joseph's, she was laid to rest in Dysart Graveyard, with her late parents and brothers.   She is survived by her sister, Creena, her nephew and nieces, extended family and friends.
School Enrolment.
Enrolment is now being taken in Toonagh School for September 2012.   Anyone wishing to enrol their child may contact the school at 6820143 for further information.
Clare Community Games.
Entries for the Art and Modelmaking competition 2012 are to be sent to Moira O'Loughlin by Jan. 24th next, ages u6;  u8;  u16 (age as at 31st July, 2012).   The theme is - any Community Games Sport.   U6 do not go forward to the County Final Competition.

Tidy Towns Clothes Collection.
The fundraiser for the Tidy Towns Organisation is in full swing up to and including Jan. 31st.    Bags of old clothes, footwear, bed linen and also old or broken mobile phones may be left in to Ruan Community Centre between 8.30a.m. and 3.30p.m., Mon. to Fri. Clothing may be worn or torn, but must be clean.   The support of the community is greatly appreciated, and will help fund projects in the parish.

Local Activities.
The Kitchen Sessions are ongoing in Toonagh Hall on Fri. nights, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  All singers, musicians and dancers, or every age, are invited to join in the night's entertainment and enjoyment.    On Thurs. nights in Toonagh Hall, children's running is held from 7p.m. to 8p.m. and aerobics classes are held from 8.30p.m. 
Meanwhile, on Tue. nights, in Ruan Community Centre, Set Dancing Classes for adults are held from 9 p.m.
