Nollag na mBan.
The vigil Mass for Nollag na mBan will be held in Toonagh Hall on Sat. night, 5th January, at 7.00p.m.   This is always a very special night for the people of the parish, when they gather to celebrate all that is good in the Community, meet old friends and make new ones.   Young and old are welcome to the Mass, and, afterwards, the ladies of Toonagh will put on a "high tea" and all will enjoy a sing-song to see out the Old and welcome in the New Year.
The local G.A.A. Club will hold its weekly lotto draw in Toonagh on that night.   There will also be a raffle for some festive prizes, which have been kindly donated by people, in support of the ongoing expenses in the running of the Hall.

The news of the sudden death of eight-month old Tadgh Lynch of Kilkee West, Ruan, left all who heard it on Christmas morning shocked and stunned.  Tadgh, the second son of William Lynch and Elaine Roseingrave, and brother of Cillian, died in his sleep on Christmas Eve, despite the best efforts of his family and medical teams.   In his short life, Tadgh had captivated the hearts of all with whom he came in contact, and he was dearly loved by his extended family.
His funeral, at St. Tola's Church, Dysart, on Fri. last, was the biggest ever seen there, with people anxious to show their support to this young, grieving family and their extended families.   Following Mass of the Angels, Tadgh was laid to rest in Dysart Graveyard.
He is survived by his father, William, mother, Elaine, brother, Cillian, grandparents, Pat and Sarah Lynch and Pat Roseingrave, his great grandmothers, aunts, uncles and extended family.

The wedding took place on Sat. last of Helen Cassidy, daughter of James and Monica, Ballymacrogan, Ruan and Barry Pilkington, son of Thomas and Yvonne, Gallows Hill, Ennis, at St. Mary's Church, Ruan.  Celebrant was Fr. Pat O'Neill, and Bridesmaids were Helen's sister, Marie, Andrea McConnologue and Lisa Pearse.   Bestman was Alan Murphy and Groomsmen were Shane Hennessey and Scott Pearse.
Ava O'Leary and Lily Cassidy-Pullein were flowergirls.
The reception was held in the Clare Inn and the couple will reside in Ruan, on return from honeymoon.
