Recent Death.
The death occurred last week, at Milford Hospice, of Geraldine Fitzgerald of Cloona, Dysart and formerly of Maghera, Inagh, following a long illness, which she bore with quiet courage.   Geraldine worked as a receptionist in Ennis General Hospital until she retired due to ill health.   She was very involved in her parish community, serving as a Reader and Eucharistic Minister in her local Church in Dysart.   She was always on hand to help out at the annual coffee mornings for Alzheimers and Cahercalla Hospice, and any social gathering in Toonagh Hall.   She was very creative and a talented artist, musician and singer.
Huge crowds gathered in Dysart and glowing tributes were paid to Geraldine by her family and friends over the days of her funeral, when her remains reposed at St. Tola's Church, and at her requiem Mass, after which she was laid to rest in Kilnamona Graveyard.
A guard of honour of students from St. Flannan's College, where her youngest son, Mark,  attends was formed at the funeral procession left the church.
Geraldine is survived by her sons, Damian, Adrian and Mark, her mother, Kathleen Fitzgerald, sisters, Mary, Sinead and Sheila, brothers Raymond, Brendan, Gerard and Kevin, extended family and many friends.
