Christmas Fair.
Ruan annual Christmas Fair was held in Ruan Community
Centre on Sunday last. It was a successful venture, with funds raised on
the day going towards the Tidy Towns and Graveyard maintenance. It was a
great community effort and the support is much appreciated by the
organizers. The work of the Rural Resource Group, with Senan Coughlan
managing it, is visible in the way the village, it’s surroundings and
the graveyards in the parish are kept and it is a very valuable group to
have in any parish.
Senior Citizens Party.
The Ruan/Dysart Senior Citizens Christmas Party was held
in Morty Kelly’s on Sunday last. It was a very enjoyable day out for
all who attended, with entertainment provided by Frank Custy and Friends
and a group of musicians, singers and dancers put together by Ellen
Custy and Mary Wynne. The meal from The Sherwood got everyone in the
festive spirit and everyone came away with a gift. The local Senior
Citizens committee are to be complimented on their efforts to make life
more pleasant for the Senior Citizens throughout the year.
