Minor G.A.A.
The local G.A.A. Club held its Minor Club A.G.M. recently where the outgoing Chairperson, Paul Howard and Secretary, Claire McDonagh gave comprehensive reports on the year's activities and they were complimented on the excellent work they are doing for the Club.  The successful u13 winning panel was congratulated and they will be presented with their medals  at a function on Jan. 27th in Toonagh Hall. Registration will also take place on that night. The meeting heard that the inaugural Ruan G.A.A. & Camogie Club summer camp proved very popular, with 110 children taking part, and it is hoped that it will take place again in August 2017.
The following were elected for 2017 - Paul Howard, Chairperson;  Claire McDonagh, Secretary;  Gearoid Roughan, P.R.O.;  Geraldine Cahir, Registrar.
The Coaching Pathways manual was distributed to all present and it is hoped that mentors of each age group will follow this programme closely in 2017.

Senior Citizens Christmas Party.
There was a great turnout at Morty Kelly's Bar in Ruan on Sunday last for the annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party. The committee pulled out all the stops to ensure that the party was a great success, with a tasty festive dinner, music, singing & dancing.
All who attended were fulsome in their praise of the work the committee puts into making the day so enjoyable for everyone.
