 The wedding took place recently at St. Joseph's Church, Barefield, of Gearoid O'Connor and Jillian Bridge.   Gearoid is the son of Jerry and Mary O'Connor of Ardcarney, Ruan and Jillian is the daughter of Adrian and Irene Bridge of The Green, Ennis.   Fr. Cletus was celebrant, assisted by 
Fr. Pat O'Neill.   Bridesmaids were Lucinda Rohen and Hazel Guerin.   Bestman was David Horan and Groomsman was Conor Wynne.   
The reception was held in The Armada Hotel in Spanish Point.
 "Mile an Tamhnaigh"
 The children  from Toonagh School ran "mile an Tamhnaigh" on Fri. last, the day of their Easter holidays, and raised €186.00 which they presented to Toonagh Hall and Sports Complex, showing their appreciation of having such an amenity so close to their school, which they use regularly.   They're looking forward to Easter Sunday, when an Easter Egg Hunt has been organised in the Hall from 2 - 5 p.m.   There will be refreshments, raffle and entertainment for children and their parents.   The winners of the poster competition will be announced on the day.

Motion for Congress.
 Ruan G.A.A. had a motion passed on Sat. last at the G.A.A. Congress held in Mullingar - that a person who has held a post on a G.A.A. 
 Committee may re-apply for the same post, after a period of five years has elapsed.
 Family Fun Day.
 The local G.A.A. Club has organised a Family Fun Day which will be held in the local G.A.A field on Sunday, 8th May next, starting at 12.30p.m.   There will be fun and games, obstacle races, penalty shootouts, tug o' war, a cake sale and a barbecue.   
The funds will go towards the completion of a hurling wall in the field.
Wed in Malaga.
 Marie Cassidy, daughter of James and Monica Cassidy of Ballymacrogan, Ruan and Michael O'Leary, son of Gus and Phil O'Leary  The Crescent, Ennis, were married in Malaga, Spain, last week.  Bridesmaids were Marie's sister, Helen, and her cousin, Regina O'Sullivan.   
Bestman was Mike Guthrie and Groomsman was Michael Mackey.   Flowergirl was Ava O'Leary.  
The couple were joined by their family on the occasion.        `

 Mass of the Eucharist in Ruan on Thursday at 8.00p.m.  Good Friday Ceremonies - Dysart, 3.00p.m., Ruan - 8.00p.m.  
Easter Vigil, Sat. 7p.m. Dysart, 9p.m. Ruan.   
Dawn Mass at 6a.m. in Teampal Hugh O'Connell, Aughrim Kelly, in by Charlie Kenny's house.   
Easter Sunday - Dysart 9.45a.m., Ruan 11.15a.m.
 I Do Not Like Thee Dr. Fell.
 There was a great reaction to the Play staged by the parish Dramatic Society at the weekend.   Gerry Heagney produced Bernard Farrell's comedy, I Do Not Like Thee Dr. Fell, and the cast were all local drama enthusiasts - James and Trevor Casey, Mairead Carroll, John Punch, Eugene O'Halloran, Ruth Heagney and Carrie Collins.   It was so well received, that it will be also staged on Good Friday night, curtains up at 8.15p.m.
