FORTITUDE to stand up and be strong,

UNDERSTANDING to follow God's Way,

PIETY to worship and pray,

COUNSEL to enlighten and guide me,

WISDOM to feel your presence beside me,

to always be awed by the mighty wonders of our God.

Week 3 – Safeguarding Children:

The safeguarding service continues to strive to bring an awareness and understanding to all working in the Parishes of our policies and procedures for keeping children safe. We work within the framework from the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church and the Children First 2011, National Guidance for the Protection and welfare of children.

“No childhood should be shattered by abuse. No young life should be lived in the shadow of fear. While it is not possible to prevent all violence, nor possible to guarantee that no child will ever be harmed by neglect or aggression or exploitation or predation, it is our duty to do everything in our power as a Government and as a society to prevent such harm. “

Frances Fitzgerald, TD. Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Children First 2011

ROSARY IN RUAN CHURCH: The Rosary will be recited in Ruan Church every evening for the month of May at 7:00 pm

ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR: Due to a recent incidence of antisocial behaviour in Toonagh Hall, which has been reported to the Gardaí, we have been advised, in consultation with the Gardaí to ask anybody using the hall, handball and football alleys to ensure that all doors have been securely locked as they leave.  We would please ask people using the facilities to be vigilant, as the hall and its facilities are valuable assets to the whole community and should be treated with respect.

CLOTHES COLLECTION: In aid of St Augustine’s Parish in Kitui Kenya. See poster on Notice Board for collection date and details.
