Thought for the Week

Imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with.

That must be very frustrating to Him

But He deals with it.    So should we!

And when we see imperfection - Remember that limitation

Is not in the Divinity of the work......So be patient, kind and forgiving.

(Elder Jerrfre R. Holland)

Killaloe Diocese Safeguarding Service: - Guidelines regarding Photographers

Where a group of parents hire a photographer or a person taking a video, it is their responsibility to ensure that the photographer has Gárda vetting, it is advisable that they should obtain permission from the parents/guardians of all the other children.
This should not be seen as an obligation on the Priest to monitor or verify.

Thought for the Week:

'Nature teaches us that nothing lasts forever and nothing ever continues as it began.

This gives us the courage to seek solutions in our difficulties,

the courage to get through any hard time,

because we know that no matter how hard it may seem at any given moment,

it will go away'.   (Sr. Stan Kennedy)

Mahlet represents the many children in the developing world who are suffering because their families can’t grow enough food to feed them. Find out how to help at trocaire.org/lent

Reflection on Mother's Day:

Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds.

Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends - but only one mother in the whole world.        (Kate Douglas Wiggin)

Time Out:   Lent can be a time when people step back from the hustle and bustle of life and, with that in mind, an hour of reflection and meditation based on The Abundance Prayer will be held in Dysart Sacristy on Monday night 24th at 8.00 pm. All welcome

Our parish has 2 AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators). These devices are potentially life saving. Fundamental to this lifesaving potential is the effective management and maintenance of both units. The AEDs require periodic and systematic checking, updating of equipment and accessories, and programmes of training and refresher courses for volunteers.

Should an emergency or critical event arise, one can appreciate the potential catastrophic consequences for a member or members of our community where these units are not managed safely and effectively.

We are appealing for any members of our community who might be good enough to give of some of their time and energy for the good of our community. Anyone interested in becoming involved in developing and facilitating an 'AED Committee' to oversee the safe and effective management of these units, please contact Emer O'Halloran 086 1733958, or any member of Ruan GAA Executive Committee or Parish Pastoral Council.
