Throughout this time of pandemic the approach of the Church has been firmly grounded in the protection of health and life and in the promotion of the Common Good. We recognise that strong restrictions are necessary in times of grave threat to public health.
For the second year running, we are unable to publicly express our faith together during the sacred time of Holy Week and Easter. They are available in our churches and we encourage you to take one home or to drop one to an elderly neighbour or friend. As Easter people journeying through life we know that God is always with us every step of the way.
That is our strong support and encouragement that sustains us during this current situation. We continue to keep in prayer all who are suffering due to Covid, and all who contribute so much to their care. Blessings on you and yours at this time

THE TRÓCAIRE campaign for 2021 explores the impact of conflict on families in South Sudan. ‘No one can face life in isolation …
We need a community that supports and helps us, in which we can help one another to keep looking ahead. How important it is to dream together…
By ourselves, we risk seeing mirages, things that are not there. Dreams, on the other hand, are built together. Let us dream, then, as a single human family, as fellow travellers sharing the same flesh, as children of the same earth which is our common home, each of us bringing the richness of his or her beliefs and convictions, each of us with his or her own voice, brothers and sisters all.’ (Pope Francis)
The Trócaire boxes for Lent are available in our Churches. We invite and encourage you to collect one for your home and during the season of Lent through your financial support think of the people of South Sudan who are struggling and displaced.

Covid-19 - One Year On - One Day At A Time
Next Friday March 12th marks one year since we went into our first Lockdown. The past year that taught us to minimize. To improvise. To compromise. We slowed down. We paused. We realized what we could do without. Our celebrations were muted, understated, but no less joyous. This past year we cried. We mourned for those who lost their lives to Covid-19. We mourned also job losses. We worried about the elderly alone and isolated. We worried about the youth. Could their young minds handle all that was being thrown at them? And then we collected ourselves. We adjusted. We empathized. We sympathized. We stepped up. We stepped in where needed. We reached out. We look forward with hope and some trepidation.
As we transition through this time we pray: One day at a time sweet Jesus. That's all that I ask of you. Lord help me today. Show me the way. One day at a time.

Friday morning 12th March, Fr. Damien will offer up the 9:30am morning Mass from St. Brigid’s Church in Corofin for all who have suffered and have been impacted this past year due to Covid-19. We remember the people of Ireland (over 4.3 thousand) and worldwide (2.53 million) who lost their lives to this invisible enemy, their families and all who mourn their loss.

The Irish Bishops’ Conference has issued guidelines in relation to the celebration of Baptism which will continue to be followed.

Only immediate family should attend the celebration of Baptism. People who might be susceptible to severe reactions to the virus should not attend.

Funerals:  We appreciate that a bereavement is a very sensitive time in the life of any family and that the support of friends and neighbours is an integral part of the grieving and healing process. This has involved the tradition of expressing sympathy by attendance at the funeral rites and making physical contact with the bereaved. In the light of the guidelines received we ask that only immediate family and close friends would attend the funeral liturgy, observing the protocols already mentioned.

At such a time as this, a thoughtful card or note expressing sympathy might be effective in expressing our solidarity with the bereaved
