Clothes Collection for Toonagh N.S.
The Parents Association of Toonagh School is holding a clothes collection in Toonagh Hall on Fri. 22nd March from 9am to 12 noon and 7pm to 9pm.
They will accept mens, womens, childrens clothes, paired shoes, handbags, ties, belts - no duvets, pillows, bed linen or curtains please.   Funds raised in this way will to towards books for the classroom libraries, and the support of the community will be greatly appreciated.
Ageing with Confidence Course.
This course will run in Ruan Community Centre, on Thursday mornings, from 10a.m. to 12 noon, starting on Thurs. 4th April next.
As the course is filling up, anyone wishing to enrol should contact Mary at 6837989 or Maureen at 6841768 for further information.
Successful Concert.
The Kitchen Sessions Variety Concert held in Toonagh Hall on Fri. night last was a great success.   Having made contributions to Clarecastle Daycare Centre, Carrigoran Nursing Home and Ruan Senior Citizens, the remainder of the proceeds will go towards tiling the floor of the ladies toilet, and installing radiators in the ladies and gents toilets.
The continued support of the community towards the local Hall and Alleys is greatly appreciated.
Recent Deaths.
The funeral Mass of the late Frances Whelan, who died in Dublin, formerly of Peafield, Ruan, will take place in Ruan next Sat. 23rd March at 2.00p.m., followed by burial of ashes in the adjoining graveyard.
The death has also taken place of Nicky McMahon of Dromore, Ruan and Mary O'Donnell (nee Marrinan), formerly Mary Hayes of Tullyodea, Ruan.

St. Patrick's Day Celebration.
There was a special celebration of our culture of traditional music, dancing and singing at Mass in St. Tola's Church, Dysart, on St. Patrick's Day.  The young people from the congregation shared their talents, making it an uplifting and memorable ceremony for the occasion.
