National Tree Planting Week.
Ruan Tidy Village will launch National Tree Week for County Clare on Monday next, 6th March at 3pm. Cathaoirleach of Clare Co. Council, Bill Chambers will be in attendance to mark the occasion.
Members of the Junior Tidy Towns from the local school will also be involved and anyone who would like to attend is welcome.

Apostolic Works Display.
The members of the Apostolic Works Society in the parish are busy putting the finishing touches to their works for the annual display and sale which will take place in Ruan Community Centre Sunday 12th March next.
They will have crochet and knitted pieces, hanging baskets and potted plants for sale and they look forward to meeting their supporters for a chat over 'a cuppa' with home baking.

Local girl, Aoife Corey from Ballygriffey, a member of Ruan Camogie Club, is on the Clare Development panel which was to play Tipperary in the u16A Munster Camogie semi final in Whitegate on Sun. last, however, due to the heavy rain which had fallen overnight, the pitch was unplayable. This game will now be played at a later date.

Recent Death.
The death has taken place, in England, of Sean Hickey, formerly of Toonagh and Sleveen.

Tidy Village.
All interested in the future plans for Ruan Village and its surrounding areas are invited to a meeting in Marty Kelly's Bar on next Wed. 8th March at 8.30pm. The three year plan for the area will be discussed and it is important that local people support what is planned, as the  community's participation and support is invaluable.
