Clare Gets Active Day – July 1st 2012:  Clare  Sports Partnership in conjunction with Clare County Council is looking for the support of every town, village, and community in County Clare to make the first ever “Clare Gets Active Day” on the 1st July 2012 a real success.  Every town and community in Clare is invited and encouraged to take part in organising a local walk, run, cycle, visit to the playground, blitz etc.  Clare Sports Partnership and Clare County Council are looking for expressions of interest from local groups or local clubs who may be interested in supporting this event locally.   The closing date for receipt of expression of interest is June 8th 2012 and further information is available from the Clare Sports Partnership on 065 6865434 or email student@claresportspartneship.ie

Invitation to be involved in the Gathering in Clare 2013  A Community Meeting will take place on Monday, 2nd July 2012 in the Temple Gate Hotel, Ennis commencing at 7:00pm which will provide an opportunity for everyone interested in being involved in this project in Co Clare to learn more about “The Gathering” and how they can be involved.

Camogie News:  Busy week in Camogie scene.  The U8s team took part in a blitz hosted by Inagh last Saturday 16th June.  The Under 13s were defeated in the 13C Shield Semi Final against Corofin on Monday evening last.  Clare U16 are playing Galway on Saturday 23rd June in Newmarket-on-Fergus, Lauren O’Donoghue is on panel.  North Munster League: Junior club.  Friday 15th June a home game, Ruan were victorious over Tulla  score line of  2-6 to 1-4.   On Friday 22nd June Ruan will travel to Tipperary and play againt Eire Og of Nenagh.  Best of luck to the girls and all your support welcome.

Intermediate Hurling:  Congratulations to Killian Ryan who was a member of the winning Clare Intermediate team who progressed to the Munster Final after last Sunday’s win over Waterford.

Annual Hurling/Shinty Competition (Oct 25-29):  Clare will host the above event during the October Bank Holiday Weekend, it will be a unique opportunity to observe this ancient game at close quarters, and clubs will be asked to organise local events to coincide with same.  More details later.
