Race Nite for Toonagh School:  The Board of Management & Parents Association of Toonagh School are embarking on a project to convert the grass playing field at the rear of the school, which is waterlogged for many months of the year,  to an 'all weather facility' which will enable the children to take part in physical activities throughout the school year.
Representatives will call to businesses in the local and surrounding areas over the next few weeks, looking for their support for a fundraising Race Nite to be held in Hotel Woodstock on July 8th next. While acknowledging that these are challenging times for people running a business, nevertheless, it is hoped that there will be a good response for the venture, which will ensure that the children attending Toonagh School now, and into the future, will get full use of all the facilities the school has to offer, indoor and outdoor. Parents have cards, should anyone wish to buy a horse.

 Ruan GAA

Ruan Minor Club - All Ireland Féile: Ruan were narrowly defeated after extra time in the Féile na nGael semi-final by Blackwater GAA from Wexford. Ruan had a great Féile campaign and after four matches played on Friday and Saturday they qualified for the semi-final on Sunday last in Omagh.

While the players were naturally disappointed at losing out so narrowly they can be very proud of their efforts and they represented Ruan and Clare very well over the weekend. A huge crowd of supporters welcomed them back to Ruan on Sunday night. Great credit to the management team and players and hopefully this group of players will stick together and continue to do Ruan proud over the coming years.

A father overheard his son pray:
Dear God,
make me the kind of man
my daddy is.
Later that night, the father prayed:
Dear God,
make me the kind of man
my son wants me to be.
