The Nihell Chalice 1713
:   This Silver Chalice was gifted to Ruan Parish and it was given on loan to the County Museum.  I went to the Museum to recover the Chalice to be told that,  it was returned to Fr Tom Burke in Carrigoran.   Neither Carrigoran House or Fr Burke’s family know the whereabouts of the Chalice.  Have you any idea where it might be?

End of Kitchen Sessions:  The Kitchen Sessions held on Friday nights over the past ten months have been a resounding success.  They ended for the summer with a very enjoyable concert in Toonagh Hall, featuring all who participated in the sessions-some of whom were also winners at the recent County Fleadh in Miltown Malbay.  The proceeds, €700, will go towards the purchase of a photocopier for Toonagh School.

Concert in Clarecastle Colm O’Donnell & The Border Collies from Sligo play the Abbey Hall, Clarecastle on Sunday 15th July at 8:00pm, to open the “Céilí at the Crossroads Festival”.  Tickets (€15 or 2 for €25  before 7th July) from Custy’s Music Shop or 085 8309292.  Proceeds to Clarecastle & District Daycare Centre.  A number of people from this parish attend the Centre and avail of the facilities provided, so your support will be very much appreciated.

Camogie League concludes:  Ruan Junior Camogie team played their last game of the North Munster League when they hosted Knockshegowna, from Tipperary, on Friday last.  They ended the campaign on a high note with a win on a scoreline of 4-12 to 2-0.

U16 ChampionshipRuan  Corofin got off  to a winning start when they beat Kilmaley recently and as training continues to improve they will next face Feakle Killanena in a confident mood.  We wish them well.
