Imeall Boirne Prayer Book We have been asked by several people for copies of the Imeall Boirne Parishes Prayer Book containing over 100 prayers and reflections from parishioners. (Thank you all so much) We have ordered a limited reprint of the Prayer Books and these will be available from Anne in the Imeall Boirne Office or from Fr. Damien and Fr. Pat from next weekend if anyone would like a copy for home or to send to a friend. 

The price is still the same at only €5 per book. Thank You! 


New Principal in Ruan N.S.  Niamh Ni Chonghaile has been appointed to Principal in Ruan N.S. and will take up the position when Cyril Lyons retires in October. Niamh has been part of the teaching staff in Ruan for the past number of years. 

We wish her every blessing in her new post and also a fond farewell and happy and healthy retirement to Cyril. 


GAA News  Clubs have decided that Clare Championship games would be played behind closed doors until the numbers allowed attend is increased to 500 people. Clubs will receive tickets for players, mentors and persons involved with the teams to each game. 

Every club has to keep a record of persons receiving a tickets to allow for contact tracing. Same applies to all underage games.

Clare 250 "The Clare 250 Coffee Weekendtakes place on July 13th & 14th at the Clare 250 Cancer Centre, Ballygriffey, from 10am to 5pm, where there will be a photo exhibition celebrating 40 years of the Clare 250. 


Ruan Summer Camp 2019   Ruan GAA and Camogie Club are delighted to announce that their annual summer camp will be taking place again in August. 

It's an extra 4 days of hurling and camogie in a fun environment for our young players and they'll learn a lot from all our excellent coaches. 

Thanks to the coaches, club officers and organising committee for making it possible.


Reek Sunday Annual Croagh Patrick Pilgrimage takes place on Sunday the 28th July. Mass will be celebrated on the summit hourly from 8:00am to 2:00pm with Confessions available from 7.30am to 2:00pm.

(3) Fulfil the requirements set by the civil register.  (4) Obtain Baptism and Confirmation Certificates, Letter of Freedom (if applicable) from Parish Office.

World Meeting of Families Dublin 2018  If you have tickets for this special event and would like to attend the Mass with Pope Francis

Hurling/Camogie Camp. Ruan Hurling Club is hosting a Summer Camp in the Hurling field from Monday, Aug. 20 to Thursday, Aug. 23 from 10am to 2pm each day, with a Family Fun Day on the Thursday. To date, 91 children have registered. Children may still register and, also register on the first morning of the camp, €30 per child.

Walk/Run for Zara
Zara O’Gorman and her mother, Anne, deeply appreciate the support of all who helped at the walk held in Ruan on Sat. last - from having the use of the facilities of Ruan Community Centre, the Managers and players of the Clare Senior Hurlers, to all who walked/ran, helped with parking, organizing the walkers and those providing refreshments. 
€12,000 was raised by this event, bringing the total raised, to date, to €67,000. 
They are hoping to have raised €100,000 by September, when Zara is scheduled to have lifesaving neurosurgery in Barcelona.

ban with immediate effect until Tuesday 31st July. This recommendation is in line with the National Water Conservation Order.

Youth 2000 Summer Festival This years Festival takes place in Cistercian College, Roscrea from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th August.
The Festival is for young people aged 16-35 and attracts over 1000 young people from all over Ireland and includes inspiring talks, workshops, dramas,
concert, prayer and much more in a chilled out setting. It promises to be a great opportunity for young people from all around Ireland to explore their faith in a chilled out setting. This is a donation only festival, just bring a pillow and a sleeping bag. Free buses to event.

Recent Cluster Meeting Last weeks’ meeting was also the last Cluster meeting that Fr. Seamus would attend. 

Gratitude was expressed to him for his generosity in being with us for the past four and a half years and for the way in which he carried out his duties during that period. His contribution to the Imeall Boirne Parishes was appreciated and acknowledged by all present.


Imeall Boirne Mass Schedule
The new schedule for Masses in the Cluster will come into effect from September 1st and will be reviewed after a six month period.
We have included the new schedule of Masses with this weekends Newsletter and also placed the new schedule on each church noticeboard.


Parish Defibrillator’s :-Anyone interested in being part of the Community Response are invited to attend an information meeting facilitated by Mr. Mark Callahan, Community Engagement Officer with The National Ambulance service on the 19th July at 7:30 pm in Ruan Community Centre. 

This talk will take approximately 30 minutes and it is hoped it will provide us with the information and support required on how to set up this group and facilitate it's running for the future.

Baptisms in the Imeall Boirne Parishes: We welcome into the Christian Community through the Sacrament of Baptism: Daniel O’Brien and

Séan O’Halloran who were recently baptised in the Imeall Boirne Cluster.
Next Baptism Preparation Meeting will take place in Ruan on 11th August from 11 am to 12 noon.

All Baptisms take place each Sunday of the Month at 12:30pm rotating between all nine churches.

People intending to have children baptised must complete the baptismal preparation course before each child is baptised. All forms for the above are

Lough Derg 3 Day Pilgrimage : This years pilgrimage takes place on 6th August Coach leaves Ennis Cathedral at 7:00 am with pickup in

Barefield, Gort, Oranmore, Claregalway, Tuam, Knock and Sligo .

Dysart / Toonagh Group Water Scheme. On the recommendation of Clare County Council we have to implement a hose-pipe
ban with immediate effect until Tuesday 31st July. This recommendation is in line with the National Water Conservation Order.

Wedding Bells
Congratulations to Martin Casey, Ruan and Annette Donovan, Cooraclare who were married on Saturday last in St. Senan’s Church Cooraclare. 

We wish them both every happiness in their future life together.


Ruan and Dysart Resource Group Our local Community Employment Scheme has an opening for an office administrator. Working 19.5 hours per week on a rota that can be altered to suit individual’s needs. A knowledge of computers is necessary and further training will be provided. You must be on a form of social welfare payment to be eligible to begin.

Fundraiser for Zara Will you walk/run 2k or 6k with the Clare Hurling Team in aid of Zara Cronin's lifesaving Neurosurgery. 

This takes place on Saturday 21st July starting at10:00 am from Ruan Village.

Ruan Scouts:- Having had a very successful first year, Ruan Scouts will be opening three sections in September 2018 - Beaver Scouts, aged 6 to 8,

Club Scouts, aged 9 to 12 and Scouts, aged 12 to 15. The groups generally meet on Thursday evenings in a venue in Ruan Village.

Clare 250 Cancer Centre There will be a coffee weekend held at the Clare 250 Cancer Centre, Ballygriffey on July 7th & 8th from 10am - 4pm. All proceeds will go towards the Clare 250 Lourdes Pilgrimage in September for those diagnosed with cancer. All are welcome.
