County Champion.
the u13A girls Handball championship was held in Toonagh Handball Club over the weekend. Local girl, Ella Casey from the Toonagh Club reached the final when she defeated Ellie Frost from the Kilkishen Club. With training and games having been curtailed for the past two years, this was the first competitive game since Ella won the All Ireland Cuman na Bunscoil competition in March, 2020.
She now goes on to represent Clare in the u13A Munster Championships. The other players from the local club who competed over the weekend included Tara Lucas, Cathal Noonan, Daniel Guinnane and Isabelle McInerney.

Camogie.
A number of girls from the local Camogie Club were involved in the Munster League Final, playing with St. Flannan's College, on Sunday. Meabhdh Casey, Aimee McDonagh and Maeve Stankard, who attend St. Flannan's, played their part in the game, however, St. Joseph's, Tulla, proved too strong on the day and went on to win the game.
When Colaiste Muire, Ennis, takes on St. Mary's, Nenagh, on this Thursday, January 20, Sinead Hastings, Kate Forde, Aisling Moloney, Aoife Glass and Niamh Glass will be the local girls on the Colaiste Muire team, hoping to have a good result.
Looking for New Members.
Ruan Camogie Club has seen a resurgance of interest in camogie and it has been building from strength to strength over the past few years. The Club is looking for new members to join for the coming year. There are teams from under 6 right up to Adult level. This year Ruan will field two adult teams, Junior A and Junior C. Girls of all ages and levels of experience will be welcomed. Joining a vibrant club can bring great benefits - from making enduring friendships, keeping fit, and for new families who have come to live in the parish finding a connection with the community.
Anyone interested may contact Ruan Camogie Secretary, Gillian, on Secretary.ruan.clare@camogie.ie.

Colaiste Muire Camogie.
Sinead Hastings, Kate Forde, Aisling Moloney and Aoife and Niamh Glass, who play with the Ruan Camogie Club, made a valuable contribution to the Colaiste Muire team which had a victory over St. Mary's of Nenagh, on Thursday last in the Munster League Final.
Ella Forde, Cliona Jones, Tara Moroney and Ciara Punch, again, members of Ruan Camogie Club, were on the panel of Colaiste Muire, Juniors, which played Thurles in the Schools Munster Final in Littelton Pitch, outside Thurles on Saturday, however, Thurles had the upper hand on the day, beating Colaiste by five points.

Fundraising Walk.
There was a great turn out for the Charity Walk in Toonagh on Sunday, Jan. 16, when a large crowd took to the roads of Toonagh, many to walk off the excesses of Christmas, more to meet up with people in an outdoor, safe environment and more to get their daily dose of exercise. Despite the fact that there was no raffle, no refreshments in the hall afterwards, no one took exception to these facts and the weather on the day was one of the reasons. It was a beautiful, sunny morning and people were delighted to be out and about and gave generously to the three deserving charities - Huntingtons, Parkinsons and Motor Neurone Associations.
To date, €7,575 has been collected, online and in person, and the idonate.ie/ToonaghWalk2022 page is active until Feb. 16, when the monies will be divided between the three Associations. The support of all who donated and helped in any way in organising the event is much appreciated.
