Advent Tree in Ruan and Dysart Churches -

During this Season of Advent, we prepare ourselves to welcome the Baby Jesus into our hearts and our homes.           As we wait in hope, let us acknowledge and pray for those, who for one reason or another, will not be "with us" this Christmas - perhaps you know a loved one who has emigrated, someone suffering mental health difficulties, a hospital patient, someone suffering addiction, or Alzheimer's disease....?                                                                                                                                      Please take a card from the basket ... representing someone we will keep in our thoughts and prayers at this time.  Write the individual/s name on it and hang it on the Advent Tree.  The names hanging on the Advent Tree will be removed on Christmas Eve and will form part of the Offertory Procession at the Vigil Mass.

We also invite you to take a card from the box.... each representing a particular gift you may wish for yourself during this Season of Advent, e.g. tolerance, contentment, patience, kindness, courage, peace, happiness, etc. and hang it on the tree.  As we focus on the true gifts of Christmas, let us unite in prayer to prepare ourselves for the coming of the Baby Jesus.

Trócaire Christmas gifts are now on sale and can make a life-changing difference to families in some of the world's poorest countries. 'Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.' Hebrews 13:16.  Log on to
