Advent Tree: During the season of Advent we prepare ourselves to welcome the Baby Jesus into our hearts and our homes. Last Sunday we lit our first candle on the Advent wreath in remembrance of each generation from Abraham to David, to the prophets, who waited and hoped. As we, too, now wait in hope, let us acknowledge and pray for those, who, for one reason or another, will not be "with us" this Christmas - perhaps you know a loved one who has emigrated, someone suffering mental health difficulties, illness at home or in hospital, someone suffering addiction or Alzheimer's disease or, someone who has died by suicide or by any other means. If you would like to remember a loved one, please take a card from the basket on the Altar, put the individual/s name on it and hang it on the Advent Tree which is located on the Altar of both Churches. The cards hanging on the Advent Tree will be removed on Christmas Eve and will form part of the Offertory Procession at the Vigil Mass.
