Tour de Munster.
Local 26 year old, Conrad McCullough, participated in the Clare leg of the Tour de Munster Charity Cycle which, this year, supported Down Syndrome (Ireland).  Conrad is an all round athlete - he has competed in Gymnastics, Swimming and over the past few years, with his mam and dad, Breda and Brendan, has cycled in the Ring of Kerry Cycle, keeping up with top cyclists on route.
He is a member of the Burren Cycling Club and cycled from Killaloe to Kilruch with cyclists, including Sean Kelly, who participated in the Tour de France in the past, and, despite getting saturated in the showers which fell on the day, it didn't faze any of the cyclists and they took it all with great good humour!

Dublin Horse Show.
A number of local horse enthusiasts were successful at the Dublin Horse Show held at the R.D.S. last week.
Tommy O'Gorman, Dysart, came third in the Breeder's Championship, with his mare, "Dysart Lily" and her foal "Dysart Elite".  Ralph Morgan, Nooan, Ruan was Reserve Champion with his filly "Ruan's Quality" in the 3 year old Loose Performance.
Noelle Barry of Toonagh, riding her horse "Norway Venture" owned by Yvonne and Laurence Meaney of Kilrush, won the Young Rider's 130 Championship and her brother, Kieran, had a clear round in the Equitation Class, riding Pajo O'Sullivan's pony, "Lahaknock Rose".
