Village Spring Clean

The AGM of the Tidy Towns was held on Tuesday last.  Officers elected were Chair: John Bell, Sec: Fintan Cotter, Ass.Sec: Linda Hogan, Treas: Joe Arkins.  The recent Race Night gave us income of €6,792 and total expenditure for the year was €4,551.73.  A village spring clean will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights next, 26th and 27th April at 7pm.  Meet in the village.  We would encourage young and old to come out and do your bit for Ruan!

KNOCK SUMMER FESTIVAL 2011 – ‘Fuel For the Journey’ – 24th – 26th June:  The Knock Summer Festival takes place this June in Knock Shrine.  It’s a 3-day event.  There will be talks, workshops, prayer, reflection, music and much more.  It is a chance to explore, ignite and celebrate your faith. RUAN FIELD DAY:  Will take place on Sunday May 8th commencing at 12.30.  The activities include obstacle races, penalty shoot outs, target shooting, sponge throwing, and many other activities for all the family.  There will be a tug-o-war competition for parishioners.  Be part of a team to represent your area.  We hope to have 4 teams from Ruan and 4 from Dysart/Toonagh, so get your boots ready and start practicing.  Shop, BBQ on site all day.  Cake sale at 1.00pm, so Ladies get baking.  Further update next week.
