VOCATIONS SUNDAY: Today, the Fourth Sunday of Easter or Good Shepherd Sunday is a special day for everyone in our parish. We celebrate the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. We ask that we may be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit as we carry on the mission of Jesus, our Good Shepherd. Let us pray for one another that we may be strengthened in our Christian vocations as married and single people, priests, deacons and religious. May our young people listen to God’s call and be encouraged to respond generously

RUAN & DYSART APOSTOLIC WORK SOCIETY thanks most sincerely all who helped in any way towards the success of their annual display day. To those who worked throughout the year; donated sacred vessels, donated money, raffle prizes, food etc. we appreciate your wonderful support. All proceeds go directly to our many foreign missions. Many thanks for your continued help.

TAX RETURN FORMS: Could I remind those of you who are PAYE tax payers to return the Tax Relief Claim Form as soon as possible.  This will not cost you anything; it is money that would otherwise stay with Revenue. If you have forgotten to return last years form, it is not too late to do so, as it can still be claimed back

A PARENT'S PRAYER.

Good and gentle God, we pray for the courage

to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings.

Give us the strength to live and to be loved in return,

not perfectly, but humanly.

Give us the faithful support of family and friends

as we care for the physical and spiritual growth of our children.

Give us joy and delight in our children and most of all,

give us the wisdom to turn to you for help, when we need it most.  Amen

DEFIBRILLATOR. (AED)

An AED is a device used to jump start a stopped heart.  Ruan GAA has purchased an AED and it is mounted on the wall at the front of Fr. O'Neill's house.  The club has recently organised training of 30 individuals in the use of the AED.  It has also undertaken to pay for an emergency telephone alert system which will summon a first aider to the scene of a cardiac incident.  It is important that the people of the parish become familiar with the location of the device and the phone number for this alert system.  In the event of an emergency, phone for an ambulance and then phone 065 671 0171.  This will put you in contact with one of our trained volunteers.
