RECENT BAPTISM: We welcome into our Community Ben William Fitzpatrick son of Eoin and Martha who was baptised recently.

TAX RETURN FORMS: Could I remind those of you who are PAYE tax payers to return the Tax Relief Claim Form as soon as possible.

This will not cost you anything; it is money that would otherwise stay with Revenue. If you have forgotten to return last years form, it is not too late to do so, as it can still be claimed back.

GARDA VETTING FORMS: It would be appreciated if the Garda Vetting Forms distributed recently to Parish Voluntary Workers would be completed and returned to Fr O’Neill as soon as possible.

Irish Blood Transfusion SERVICE: 3000 units of blood are required every week.  1000 people receive blood or a blood product every week. 1:4 of our population require blood at some point in their life. 3% only of our population gives blood. The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be holding a blood donor clinic in the West County Hotel, on Wed 17th and Thurs 18th April from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and also from Mon 22nd to Thurs 25th April inclusive from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

An AED is a device used to jump start a stopped heart.  Ruan GAA has purchased an AED and it is mounted on the wall at the front of Fr. O'Neill's house.  The club has recently organised training of 30 individuals in the use of the AED.  It has also undertaken to pay for an emergency telephone alert system which will summon a first aider to the scene of a cardiac incident.  It is important that the people of the parish become familiar with the location of the device and the phone number for this alert system.  In the event of an emergency, phone for an ambulance and then phone 065 671 0171.  This will put you in contact with one of our trained volunteers.

GRAVEYARD SURVEY: A survey and map of the old graveyard in Ruan has recently been completed. It high lights the fact that there is quite a bit of ground available for future burials. The map and a list of families associated with each plot are displayed at the back of the Church. Please take a little time to check that your family plot is correctly recorded. Help in identifying unmarked graves would be much appreciated as would any other comments or corrections. Full inscriptions on all headstones have been recorded and photographed and will be available in book form shortly.

TOM KENDZIA MUSIC WORKSHOP: Tom Kendzia is an American church music composer in Ireland at present. He is available to do a church music workshop next week in Ennis. He is free Monday Tuesday or Wednesday. Depending on people's availability and numbers I'm looking to know what night would best suit.
