PARISH COUNCIL MEETING:  Tuesday 19th February at 8:00 pm in the Parochial House

SAFEGUARDING TRAINERS IN THE KILLALOE DIOCESE: Training will take place on Sat 9th March in Ennis and Sat 6th April in Nenagh, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, for all new Safeguarding Representatives. Representatives who would like a refresher are welcome to attend. Please give your details to Fr. O’Neill as soon as possible, if you wish to attend. All Safeguarding Representatives must attend one of the training events for the Diocese Audit and the upcoming National Audit.

OPENING WINDOWS CONFERENCE:  A conference, reliving Vatican 11, will be held at the Clare Inn Hotel, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co. Clare, on Saturday 23rd March - 9:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.  Bishop Kieran, Julie Kavanagh, Aoife McGrath, Fr Liam Lawton and Fr Dermot Ryan will share insights on key themes from the Second Vatican Council. Each parish is invited to ask two parishioners to attend.  The conference is free of charge and lunch will be provided.  Registration forms are available in your parish.  Completed registration forms should be sent by email to  openingwindows@outlook.com  or forwarded by post to Fr Albert McDonnell, Westbourne, Ennis, Co. Clare, by 28th Fe

BREASTCHECK in currently screening in Co. Clare. Women aged 50 to 64 will be invited by letter to attend for their free mammogram. Screening is by appointment only. As some women may not be on the BreastCheck register, all women aged 50 to 64 are encouraged to check that they are registered via the Freephone 1800454555 or the website www.brestcheck.ie.  All screening units are fully accessible to people with disabilities.

RAINBOWS PROGRAMME: Rainbows is a programme for children who are suffering loss or bereavement due to death or separation. There will be a programme with trained facilitators in the new Meeting rooms in Crusheen Church running from Mid April to Mid June. For further information contact Marcia McDonagh on 087 642 4382

CAMOGIE NEWS: 

Club Registration Night: Joint Registration Night for Camogie and Hurling Club will take place in Toonagh Hall on Friday 22nd February 2013 at 7.30.  All players and parents are invited to attend. 

Congratulations to Brid McNamara on being awarded National Association PRO of the year award, for the second year in succession. This is a great acknowledgement of Brid`s tremendous work and commitment to Clare Camogie in her role as County PRO.   Mary Hickey O’Brien

RUAN GAA NEWS: 

Ruan Minor Club Registration Night:  Ruan Minor Club are holding their Official Registration night in Toonagh Hall on Friday 22 Feb            at 7 :30 pm.
Boys from under 6 to under 18 are requested to attend with their parents. All players have to be registered in order to train or play with the club for 2013. The registration fee is €5  per child up to a maximum of €10 per family. Please bring completed Registration form on night. Refreshments will be served and any parent wishing to donate baking etc on night will be greatly appreciated.    Susan Rice
