Missionvale: The volunteers, who included John O'Sullivan and former Ruan native Liam Kerwin, returned from Missionvale in South Africa last week having completed a very satisfying week’s work.  Up to 800 people queue for hours every day in searing heat at the feeding station and now they will be able to sit in comfort in the new shelter which was erected and fitted out. Water is both very scarce and expensive in Missionvale and after a week’s digging of drains in over 30 degrees, surface water can now be collected in an unused septic tank and pumped to the allotments which are provided by Sr Ethel for the locals. All this work was made possible by contributions from people all over Clare and a special thank you to all those from Ruan who were particularly generous.

Thought for the Week:

Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love,

A gift to that person, a beautiful thing.    (Mother Teresa)
